Happy birthday, Toru!
Our beloved Leader turns 31 today! His birthday was celebrated a little early in Shizuoka, where he got caked for the first time ever. It’s been a while since he celebrated a birthday in Japan. Usually the band is touring overseas at this time.
In other news, PRIMAL FOOTMARK 2020 is currently available for pre-order! There is an original poster bonus, shipped either rolled or folded, available for continuing members who order by December 31st. The book retails for 3600 yen and will start shipping in late January to mid-February. The PRIMAL FOOTMARK member website is planned to open in early February.
I recently stumbled across an old interview with Taka on the Music Natalie website. It was quite insightful, especially considering how much the band has accomplished since then, so I decided to translate it. Check out my translation here!
Happy birthday to me! You know what that means? Present for YOU!
Check out my latest interview with European videographer and photographer Jamie Carter!! His wife is expected to give birth today too so it’s possible his newborn daughter and I may be birthday buddies! A big congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Carter!
NHK’s ONE OK ROCK World Tour Document program, which originally aired on NHK last week on October 19, 2019, will be aired overseas on NHK World Premium! It is not known whether or not the program will include subtitles.
Happy 109 Day!
To commemorate “Wanoku Day,” I’ve got a new interview for you all! This time, I had the pleasure of talking with graphic designer KENTA MORI. Check out the interview here!
Honda also surprised us with a behind-the-scenes movie of how the ONE OK ROCK x Honda Power Products commercial was filmed as well as some new images. They can be found on the GVP website.
And as if that wasn’t enough, NHK announced that they will be broadcasting a 1-hour documentary about ONE OK ROCK’s World Tour on October 19 at 11PM, Japan time! This will be the second time that the band has appeared on the network, the first time being for the 18 Fes. program. Check this page for a special message from the band and a short commercial. Unfortunately it is not likely that the program will be available outside Japan.
MAX’s Lights Down Low (feat. Taka from ONE OK ROCK) is now out!!! Listen here on YouTube!
I personally think this is one of the best collaborations to date. The song works so well with Taka’s vocals, and his voice really meshes well with MAX’s. Taka never ceases to amaze me with his beautiful voice.
Also updated the website so that the track samples on each of the lyrics pages are through Apple Music instead of Spotify.
It is my wish that this site become the best source for information available in English for ONE OK ROCK so today I’ve added a couple new articles: a guide to PRIMAL FOOTMARK and a guide to OOR concerts in Japan! I hope these articles will be useful to those who wish to join PF or go see the band in Japan.
Check out the new guides here!
Honda revealed its fourth collaboration with ONE OK ROCK today, this time for Power Products. View the commercial on YouTube here! It features the song Head High and includes a cool scene where the band is performing the song. This commercial is what the boys were recording in the dessert a few months ago while on tour.
In the Shibuya area of Tokyo, the Shibuya 109 building currently displays an ad for #10969GVP, teasing the message, “Something good is coming on September 20th.” Keep an eye on Honda’s GVP page for updates! And don’t forget to “keep your head high”!
